Get to know CTG's Musical Collaborators

BRAD STOTT - Born in raised in western Michigan, in an old lumber town, and now living in Atlanta with wife Molly, and working for a well known car company. Started playing percussion at the age of 10. Graduated from Michigan Tech in '99 with an engineering degree. Started playing Jazz, Latin, Rock in first bands during college. Fell in love with the acoustic guitar during school where I met the guys from Still Listening and it's been all downhill from there. With musical influences like Tim Easton, Kelly Joe Phelps, Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, Counting Crows, Billy Pilgrim, Storyhill, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Nickel Creek, DMB, Jackopierce,Lyle Lovett, Jayhawks, John Mayer, Gypsy Kings, The Verve Pipe, Brad expresses his love for both percussion and the gee-tar. Other projects Brad's worked on include: still listening (out of print) Red House Recording Studios; Salsa Norte, Red Sun Compilation; Tales from the Attic w/Katie Monaghan; Still Listening - Long Road to Go; Carl Thomas Gladstone-Tales Scratched Out. Email Brad

KATIE MONAGHAN SPINDLER - Many of the harmonies on oft broke echo and Tales Scratched Out are the work of Katie Monaghan.  Katie is a singer/songwriter of immeasurable talent - for years the first question people have asked about CTG's music has been, "Who's that singing back-up?"  Although music is her true calling, someone has convinced Katie to get a well paying job as an engineer...some people, Sheesh! Email Katie

JASON HILL - While some may say he's a tree hugging hippie....well wait...that's exactly what Jason is. He and Becky live in Ann Arbor for now and continue to look for opportunities to save the world. From playing tambourine in bell choir [not joking] to becoming lead guitarist for Still Listening, Jason has come a long way. Ray Lamontagne, Greg Brown, Steppin' In It are all playing in Jason's cd player and Jason continues to practice playing feedback guitar for future CTG albums. Email Jason

MIKE MAYO - He may work as a high school teacher but his secret life as a rock star bass and banjo player keeps his students guessing..."Why does Mr. Mayo have another super-glued blister on his thumb?"  Mike, Jamie, and their son Nathan live in Ypsilanti and try to keep the rest of us respectable. A quote from Mike. "Freeways, sidewalks, and suburban streets-that's my life for the next thirty years, the only problem is that I have complete control over my schedule." Mike plays anything you want him to including Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Mando, Susaphone, and complex mathematical theorems. Music in Mike's cd player: Radiohead, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Outkast, Béla Fleck. Hobbies:  Woodworking, mowing the lawn, reading Harry Potter, Fly fishing. Email Mike

ANNA STROUD enjoys hanging out with CTG whenever possible, taking his picture, listening to him philosophy. Sometimes she ends up staring and it gets a little creepy. But her talents as a photographer and back-up vocalist are much appreciated so she's got that going for her, which is nice. Anna is a fan of Eastmountainsouth and Jack Johnson. She is a pre-med/biology and art double major and seeks to heal the whole world sometime in the near future. Email Anna
MARY GLADSTONE What can one say about this extraordinary musician, non-profit administrator, platypus enthusiast, and sometime rare-artifacts-of-colonial-Williamsburg-curator? A lot. Mary grew up listening to the sounds of Neil Diamond, Tiny Tim, Meat Loaf, Mama Cass, and Shirely Temple - artists whose musical stylings she attempts to recreate in anything she does. Mary sings and plays the nose flute, the spatula, and various asundry items from that random stuff drawer in everybody's house. Without her neither oft broke echo nor the declaration of independence would have been a possibility. Email Mary
DAN_WORLEY can take anything you give him and turn it into a beautiful representation of your work. Main man behind The Good Noise Studio and member of City Goat, area band of notoriety, Dan is a hub of indie music in the Ypsi/Arbor/Detroit area. Beyond talent, Dan is a great person and someone who it is an honor to work with.
