Local Artists: Detroit's Metro Times

Browsing today brought me to a feature of the Metro Times web site that made me feel good about the music scene in the D.  At the page listed below you can browse local artists, check out their tunes, get set up to see them live.

Guess I am in need of a street team that can make this kind of listing happen, but in the meantime, I wanted to make sure everyone is getting out there and supporting as much local music as you can!

Hopefully a number of you made it to the electronic music festival last weekend and will be on the lookout for great new venues/artists/festivals this summer.

I figure music can both touch the soul and challenge the brain on any given number of topics, sometimes I think that independent artists have more freedom to ask questions and go places in their lyrics that signed bands may not be allowed due to commercial concerns.  What do you think?  Let me know in the comments sections.  Otherwise, what's you're favorite place to catch a show in Detroit?

We'll see you at the venues,

Carl
